winnie the pooh baby shower

Over the weekend I co-hosted my first baby shower! A bit intimidating but I enjoyed putting it all together and working out the fun details. I made a lot of the decorations and will update the bottom of this page with blog posts for each of those items. Some were more involved than others, but I'm hoping to be able to use those for many more showers and events to come. It was definitely worth all the time put in (I was able to finish multiple seasons of Scandal while getting all of these done haha), and I think it turned out pretty cute! Everything went smoothly, and it was so nice to see family that came from out of town.

The mom-to-be has always loved Winnie the Pooh so it was an easy theme to decide. We wanted the shower to have a Winnie the Pooh presence but not Winnie the Pooh everything. And while we knew the baby was a girl, we didn't want an overload of pink. We tried to stick to neutrals with elements of "baby pastels" and Winnie the Pooh.

I found the perfect invitations on etsy here and the process was so easy. We decided to do two activities: "Guess the Birth Date" and "The Price is Right" game. All of the supplies for "Guess the Birth Date" were downloaded from here. I changed the instructions slightly since we decided this would just be a fun activity in the background with no formal winner or prizes. As for "The Price is Right" game, I found a few pre-made ones on etsy but we didn't love the wording. I ended up making it myself using picmonkey. That way I was able to use the etsy products as a template, but customize a few of the baby items. I used the font Two is Better Than One and the same Winnie the Pooh graphic from the invitation. That same font was used on the chalkboard sign and the name cards at each table.

More details are coming soon!

  1. What a beautiful baby shower. I am very happy to see Winnie the Pooh theme. My sister is madly in love with pooh. Going to arrange pooh themed surprise baby shower for her at one of venues in Los Angeles. Surely she will love this surprise.
