cookie baking day

12 days of Blogmas! I'll be posting every other day for a total of 12 posts before December 25th.

On the first day of blogmas!
Our second annual cookie baking day with family! Read last year's post here. We did almost everything the same this year and it all worked really well. This time, a hot chocolate and hot cider station was added for people to get when they arrived and throughout the day. We voted on what to bake and ended up making sugar cookies, caramel crispy balls, nutella cookies, and snickerdoodles! We spent the day baking and chatting in the kitchen with family while we watched it snow outside. With the christmas music playing in the background it was the perfect kick-off to our holiday season. Everyone went home with a box of treats and new recipes.

For the take home boxes, we used dollar store containers with lids and lined them with christmas tissue paper. Each box got a little keepsake made of a tiny ornament and "merry christmas" wood cutout. They also got a copy of each recipe had the option of including a tag leftover from last year. All tied together with some red and white baking twine. Read about last year's event here.
