pom pom garland

IMG_0110
My brother's graduation party is next week, so I've been spending a lot of time on pinterest looking for ideas. Pinterest is so helpful for party planning, and I found a lot of cool decorating ideas. One that I saw multiple times was the tissue paper pom poms. I decided to make a garland of them to hang up outside at the party! I used a rainbow pack of tissue paper from Target and cut them in halves until the pieces about 8 inces wide and 12 inches long. For each pom pom, I used 4 layers of tissue paper.

Jimmy Kimmel started a new parody series on his talk show called "The Baby Bachelor". The episodes follow his 3-year-old nephew's search for love. It's both adorable and genius. The series started in May and last week, episode three aired! Watch all the episodes here.

coconut toffee chocolate chip cookie bars

Last week, I was browsing pinterest when one of my friends pinned this recipe for Coconut Toffee Chocolate Chip cookie bars. The moment I saw it, I knew I had to make them. They looked and sounded like everything I could ever want in a food. So I went to the store to gather the ingredients and then baked them as soon as possible. I think they turned out pretty well! I could have eaten the whole pan by myself they were so good. See the recipe here

product rave

I'm pale, so I am no stranger to self-tanner. I've been using it every summer for as long as I have been aware of its existence. I'm always reading up and trying out the newest self-tanning products. While I'm constantly trying out the newest product, I've always kept some Jergens Natural Glow daily moisturizer tanner on my shelf as a back up. And even though that product seemed to work the best, it still wasn't great. I'm happy to say that I think I have finally found a replacement! I love the L'oreal Sublime Bronze Self-tanning Gelee.

After trying this product multiple times, I've determined that it is my new favorite. How I evaluate a self-tanner:
1. My brothers' opinions. I can always count on my brothers to point out my fake tan when it looks orange or streaky. They didn't even notice this one!
2. Someone compliments my tan. If someone asks me if I've been laying out or on vacation and compliments my tan, major points to the self-tanner. When I tried this out, my mom thought I had been laying out all day!
3. The time it takes to develop color. I used this product each morning for 2 days. I had a bronzy tan by the afternoon on the 2nd day! No need to use it a 3rd morning, as that probably would have been too much.
4. Staying power. It lasted longer than I expected, even after I stopped using it.

Of course this will work differently for everyone, but I recommend giving it a try :)
