december favorites

A few of my favorite things during the month of December!

Wonderstruck perfume. My favorite fall/winter perfume.

Abcfamily. I had the 25 days of Christmas movie countdown on my TV pretty much 24/7 in my dorm room.

Green tea. I drink this every night! It's so good.

MAC Satin Taupe and Naked Lunch. I love these eyeshadows! I've been wearing them for all of the parties and family Christmas get-togethers this month.

Candy cane tootsie pops. Christmas themed candy that got me through finals week!

HIMYM. Just like last year, I'm using this break to watch How I Met Your Mother marathons. I'm so close to catching up with the current season 8 episodes!

Mossimo Supply Co. long sleeve thermal top. I have two of these tops and they are so cozy! Perfect for layering when I have a long, cold walk to class.

Holiday M&Ms. More Christmas themed candy that got me through finals week!

Urban Decay Naked2 palette. One of my favorite Christmas gifts this year! It's so pretty.

Sock bun. A sock bun has become my go-to hairstyle during this break.

Hershey's bliss milk chocolate. Chocolate is always good.

Piano keyboard. Another Christmas present! I love playing the piano, and I'm already learning a new song.

Maybelline liquid eyeliner pen. I mentioned this in a post a few months ago, and I am still obsessed with it.

Apple pie. This is by far the best store bought apple pie. It comes frozen and then we bake in the oven at home. I definitely recommend it!

Red knit infinity scarf. Someone knit me a scarf! I absolutely love it, and I've been wearing it everyday.

Pitch Perfect. Another Christmas present! I've already watched it twice.

Christmas music. Of course I had Christmas music playing 24/7 this month!

christmas day

Merry Christmas!
I had a really nice Christmas this year. I received gifts and spent time with both sides of the family. We ate a big dinner, exchanged gifts, chatted, ate cookies & pie, and ended the night with some Christmas movie trivia. I didn't take nearly as many pictures throughout the day as I had hoped, but here's what I do have.
one of my favorite things about christmas morning:
wrapping paper, tissue paper, and bows all over the floor
another favorite: colorful christmas lights strung on all of the buildings downtown

ootd: christmas

On the 12th day of blogmas...
outfit of the day: Christmas edition!

After months of searching I finally found a dress for Christmas! It is by far my favorite Christmas dress, and I can't wait to wear it. I'll be wearing it to church tonight and then all day tomorrow for dinner and family gatherings. I couldn't find the dress online, but it's a Bar III dress from Macy's. The dress is a maroon color with black lace across the top. I love it!

Thank you so much for joining me during blogmas 2012. I hope you enjoyed it!
Merry Christmas!

lemon meringue

On the 11th day of blogmas...

My mom bakes the best everything. Every Christmas she bakes pumpkin bread, tons of christmas cookies, and pies. I look forward to her lemon meringue pie the most! It's so good, and I love that it's special to our holiday season.

christmas sparkle

On the 9th day of blogmas...

Christmas DIY time! One of my favorite things to do is use nail polish to customize my bobby pins. It's so easy. Another one of my favorite things is glitter/sparkles on everything during Christmas time. Why not combine the two?! I did this last year, and I LOVE wearing those bobby pins in my hair. They are the perfect little addition to any holiday outfit. Here's how I make mine.

supplies: bobby pins + glitter polish
{i used essie set in stones and essie a cut above}
coat the top of the bobby pin using a dabbing motion
i applied about 4 coats to completely cover the top with glitter

cup of cheer

On the 7th day of blogmas...

Starbuck's peppermint mocha drink is one of my favorite things to get during this time of the year. It's so delicious and it tastes like Christmas! Last year, someone gave me a recipe for peppermint hot chocolate. It's pretty similar to the Starbucks drink, and I have it all the time over Christmas break. Here's how we make it at my house.

*peppermint tea
*hot chocolate

1. make peppermint tea. fill the mug about 1/2 way with tea.
* add any additional hot water if you want
2. add 3-4 scoops of hot chocolate. stir.
3. add as much milk as you want to fill the rest of the mug.
